Strider  --  Beneteau 393

THE BOAT:  Strider is a 2002 Beneteau 393 (39 feet 4 inches LOA), 2 sleeping cabin ‘owner’ version.  She is a fast cruising boat, well equipped both above and below.  I bought her new in June of 2002 and have endeavored to keep her clean and well maintained since.

Abovedecks:  sail inventory includes a Neil Pryde full batten main, Neil Pride 135 genoa (original mfg sails) and an extra heavy laminated 105 jib.  The main is a classic style with retractable lazy jacks.  Jibs are roller furling. She is mostly rigged for symmetrical spinnaker, however I purchased an asymmetrical a few years ago.  I normally reserve the spinnaker for my own use because of the cost of the sail and extra hazards of flying a chute.  However, I am willing to discuss it’s use by a partner who has good spinnaker experience.  There is a track mounted spinnaker pole, which we have used successfully with the jib for wing and wing. Winches:  2 Lewmar 54 primaries, self- tailing.  2 Lewmar 44’s self tailing on the cabintop for halyards, etc.  Most running lines led back to the cockpit.

Also included is an electric windless, 35 lb danforth, and inflatable dinghy and outboard.

Electronics:  Radar, Chart Plotter, GPS, Autopilot, wind speed and direction, Tri-Data (speed, depth, temp) – all Raymarine linked with HSB bus.   Seven inch color display at the helm and 7 inch B&W display below at the nav station.  VHF, stereo and electronic tank monitors. Stereo speakers are mounted both in the cockpit and salon.

Belowdecks – typical well crafted Beneteau cherry colored interior with plenty of wood.  White ulta-leather cushions in the salon and upgrade blue cloth on the bunks.  All mod-cons:  propane stove with oven, separate fridge and freezer compartments, dual sinks, H&C pressure water, microwave, forward and aft heads, each with shower capabilities and separate holding tanks.

The aft cabin is quite large, laying under the cockpit.  The forward stateroom contains a full sized Pullman berth and narrow settee opposite, with the forward head in the forepeak.

Power:  Strider is powered by a 42 HP Westerbeake diesel, with an Autoprop dynamically adjusting feathering prop.

Location:  Strider is located in Sausalito Yacht Harbor, in the center of Sausalito and easy walking distance to shops, restaurants and the SF Ferry dock.
